Heartstrings...{Nashville, TN Family Photographer AluraWayne Photography}
Every now and then I see something...or hear something...and it tugs at my heartstrings.
There was the time I just happened to be in the right place at the right time and got to capture a beautiful proposal take place at the end of another session I was on. Gifting those unexpected photos was such a JOY!
Or like the moment I finally submitted my application to be a volunteer photographer for Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep...and many sessions later, I realize even more of what a tremendous gift it is that I'm so honored and humbled to give.
Sometimes I see both good and bad, tragedy or joy, suffering and celebrating...and I think...well what can I do to honor these people? I can give the gift I've been blessed with- the gift of photography. It may not always be much, but if even one photo I take can bring joy, or healing, or comfort, or peace...I want to be able to give that away every chance I can get.
Such was the nature of these sweet children that I had the pleasure of photographing in my favorite little creek! This family has recently gone through a tragedy you hardly ever hear of, and if you do, it certainly hasn't happened to you or someone you know. It was a tremendous loss, that spread across news headlines, and had this particular family mourning the loss of great friends. I happen to be in a Facebook group with their mom, and read a post she made one day where she was struggling to bring any joy to her family after losing such dear people in their lives. So I did the one thing I could think of...offer to cheer her kiddos up with a fun creek session!
I have to say, I think it worked! You can judge for yourself...
