Rachel Henderson | AluraWayne Photography

I first picked up a camera out of a love of storytelling. I wanted light and color and depth to mean something in each photograph. I wanted to keep memories in tangible forms so I could recall them at a glance long after the memories had begun to fade....

I would love to tell your story.

I'm a little bit quirky.

I'm a LOT-a-bit love.

I am extremely passionate and emotionally driven.

I search for the beauty in absolutely everything.

I love peonies, sushi, cocktails, and sunshine...

I love people and love to be friends with just about everyone!

I love Jesus and I am eternally grateful for His grace.

I love diversity and the beautiful melting pot of Nashville.

I'm Rachel, and it is so nice to meet you!

I spent much of my younger years with a love of photography, but it wasn’t until 2012 that I took a more serious path into making it my life’s work. I enrolled in the certificate course for photography at the University of Tennessee and officially opened AluraWayne Photography while living in Knoxville, TN late that year. I took on my first birth client in the fall of 2015, within two months of moving to Nashville, TN, and I was HOOKED! I have shot over 50 births now (and counting!) and it is truly my passion. I like to say that growing families are my passion… from maternity, to birth, to newborn and beyond, I love to capture every stage! In 2017 I enrolled in more courses with the Film Life Academy that taught videography, followed by additional education specific to birth and family videography. I have since added videography to my portfolio and it is such a beautiful addition to telling these stories! I am in love with both photos and video now and I am so thrilled to be able to offer both options to my clients.

What is a session like?

I want to capture real life and show you just how beautiful it is. I use a lifestyle and documentary approach to all sessions- we don't pose and smile at the camera in unison. I do help guide your sessions with ideas on what to do, with gentle posing techniques, but our goal is to capture the real and raw energy that is special and unique to you as a person and a family. I offer assistance in planning outfits and session details/timelines in order to make this as fun and effortless as possible!

Where can I find pricing and session info?

All session information, including pricing, is listed under each category in the main menu. Just click on the type of session you’re interested in to learn more! If you don’t see what you’re looking for, feel free to shoot me a message!

How long does it take to get my final images?

Delivery time for a final gallery averages three weeks from the date of your session. These times can be quicker depending on my current schedule! For product purchases such as albums or custom items, delivery can take an average of two to four weeks; albums take longer due to the printing and binding process. All other print products ordered directly from your online gallery will come with tracking, and typically have a quick turnaround of a week or less.
